Pre-installed programmes make it easy for heating installers to set the thermostat to suit their customer’s needs. Choosing the P0 programme maintains a constant temperature 24 hours a day, while the P1 and P2 settings will lower the temperature at predefined periods of the day to save energy, and regulate the heating to match the user’s lifestyle when the home is occupied. Extra energy savings can be made with the innovative open-window function, which prevents heat being wasted by closing the valve if the thermostat detects a significant drop in room temperature. Danfoss has also included a handy holiday function so users can set living eco® to reduce the temperature while they are away and turn back to the desired temperature in time for their return.
Danfoss’ Marketing Director, Bjorn Sejr Nielsen, says the new living eco® with its precise, intelligent heating control brings benefits for installers and their customers. He comments: “By replacing their old radiator thermostats with living eco® homeowners can save up to 15% on their heating bills, according to studies based on typical UK heating systems. This is a real benefit which installers can promote to their customers during a scheduled service visit or call-out, for example. And because living eco® is compatible with Danfoss radiator valves and many other non-Danfoss valves, the changeover can be completed quickly and easily.”
The new living eco® thermostatic radiator valve from Danfoss is a compact device which runs on two AA alkaline batteries with a two-year lifetime. It has been specially designed by Danfoss to be user-friendly, with only three buttons on the front, and is fitted with a child lock to prevent little fingers from altering the settings. The intuitive digital display makes living eco® simple to operate; it is backlit for easy reading.
